The pulse ox measuring the oxygen in her blood.

The freshly inserted IV to draw blood for labs and to run antibiotics and fluids.

The EKG cables to measure her heart function.

The carefully guarded ride to the Imaging Center.

The (very) still dual shot of her lungs and heart size.

The very pensive, attentive look when having her questions answered about any and all procedures.

The heart-grappling monitor that assures us she's ok, or worse, that she's not (Sam is proficient at the settings).

MY most favorite and heart-wrenching moment of it all.

And a not-so-typical occurrence, my forgetting to grab a pair of shoes as we whisked her away into the car for the 9 minute drive to TX Childrens Hospital.
Bare feet swept the horrific hospital floor before a nurse graciously adorned my feet with these disposables.
Like I said, a typical kinda day for our little warrior. MY kinda life. Sweet, beautiful life.
Btw, although we feared some sort of heart issue, it was a normal kind of virus. My question was, "normal to who?" We aren't very good at addressing fevers and tummy aches, at a loss, actually. We seem to be better at matters of the heart.
