Take it From Me..

Isabela and I spend every morning before work/school, some lunches, every afternoon after work/school and every evening together, other than her Kindergarten instructional time, we are glued to one another. So, she can't help but learn a few things like...

How to appropriately apply make-up and brush hair.

The importance of exercise.

Because then that leads to a healthy heart ( my yearly heart ultrasound - ECHO)

The joy of reading.

The service of taking care of one another..

Even better with High School Musical band-aids.

Being a full-time grad student who had a crazy notion of completing a 2.5 yr program in one year.

To enjoy a good, all-American baseball game. No matter who is playing.

The love of a mother, even if your daughter is a (over-priced) doll.

And most lately, a right to a career, in addition to the big job of being a mother. She can have it all and do it all. It just takes a good night's sleep and a huge "will". In this pic, Isabela is pretend-talking to my Principal through my radio, discussing important matters about children getting home safely. It's telling from her interpretation of me, that I must really be happy doing all that I'm doing.

To be fair, I don't know that I would be doing as much of the "career" thing, as I am now, while she's this young, if I wasn't off the clock by 3 pm every day and only work a total of 8 months out of the year with summers and holiday weeks off. Without that, " having it all" wouldn't be so desirable to me. As much as I yearn to do it all, what I want more is to do it well. To love my family well.
