Coloring Outside the Lines

Because my kids are not fully restrained to common rules, here is Isabela jumping on my hotel bed. She isn't allowed to have shoes touch any sofa, her finger tips touch elevator buttons, wrap her hands over door knobs, walk bare foot on a hotel room floor, drink out of a public water fountain w/out my carrying her, lay on her pediatrician's exam bed(even w paper coverage) and never use the last square sheet of paper on the toilet paper roll in a public restroom, but she has full permission to jump on a hotel bed. Keeps her from secretly doing it at home when I'm not watching. Gotta loosen up, right?!

Funny story...months ago, as Isabela was approaching the pediatrician's exam room's door, she realized she would have to pull on the lever (knob) to pull it open, with her bare hand. So, she quickly looked over to me and asked me to pass her the prescription her doctor had just written. Just as Dr. Zuniga was going to explain to her what that small note was and ask her to not take it from me, we saw her cover the lever with the paper and hold the lever down, hand on top of paper. We didn't know whether to laugh because she is smart enough to be careful with pesky germs or worry that we have created a huge germaphobe ! Well, we laughed. The important thing is to know when and where to draw the lines. Who cares what any onlooker has to say about it.




























The jumping lasted 3 minutes. I was on the bed ready to catch her. I am pretty sure that those jumps would have multiplied if she knew she wasn't allowed to ever do it. Reconciliation.



At Crystal's college apartment, they are each completing their own homework, in Spanish.
Drawing "inside the lines" is expected in this case.
