Are you Back in TX???

Yoohoo!! Hellooo???

Christina, are you back???

I have been waiting for months for this day. Tell me you have made it.

I can hardly take it! My lovely, just-about-knows-me-better-than-I-do friend is moving back to her beloved Austin, Texas. Yippeeeeeee!

Christina,

I know you are my loyal blog reader, so here I am reaching out for you....

I have left you alone the past few days. From our last phone call two weeks ago, I knew you were about to go into a whirlwind with moving accross the country and all the annoying loose ends that were out of your control. But, like I told you, I had a hard time feeling bad for you. I am selfishly filled with so much glee!!! I just realllly want you here, no matter what!

Five years ago, you took care of our little girl in the hospital for six long months. Since then, you left for Dallas and then Portland. With only a few visits in between, you have managed to be an amazing friend and caretaker for ME over hundreds of miles. Now, with you only 2 hours and 15 min. away, I can't wait to see you more often. Isabela has no idea what she's in store for with you in her life. I am really looking forward to the day I leave her on your doorstep and you get to bask in the little girl you fought oh so hard to keep alive so that she could come home to us.

The only thing I will miss about your being outside of Texas is the anticipation of those birthday packages delivered to our door. You never missed one special occassion in our lives. But, I hope this means you will take your little Isabela on a shopping spree instead! She is sure to have the love for shopping in common with you!

I have a feeling Austin, Texas will be seeing more of us from now on ..

We Love you dearly, Christina.

August 2007, with Isabela's other Primary care nurse, Valerie. Christina surprised us by driving from Dallas that day to celebrate Isabela's 3rd birthday.

Heterotaxy Heart

After five hours at Texas Childrens Hospital, the verdict is: awesome looking heart with great function, normal size (thanks to meds!), mitral valve is static at a low moderate leak and her lungs are getting healthier. What does this mean? Open heart surgery will be a less risky one and it will likely happen this coming Spring, in April. About one month stay in the hospital and then a couple of months recovery at home. Nothing like almost four years ago!!! yippee! AND , when Heather, her brilliant cardiologist, was here last week for Isabela's b-day party, I hit her up for statistics. This is what turned my life upside right....less than 1% chance mortality (hate that word). WOW!!!! When she was born, I was given a 90% grim number. Plus, we have already secured a spot with the top heart surgeon at the hospital...one of the best in the country!

We are soooo celebrating this ...chocolate all night...as much as my little baby wants! I need those smiles to rock my world!

Christina, I am sure you are reading this and smiling...The pics were taken at her new school this morning after we attended her orientation. She is wearing part of her b-day gift from you! (I know the top is suppsed to be a dress) We tried to return the capris for a smaller size, but The Gap was out of them. So, look what we got her!! Skinny jeans!!! So living vicariously through her....I can't wear them, wish I could. Anyhow, hope you like her ensemble...thanks to you!!! Apparently, Isabela does!
