I started reading it to her about a year ago, but she had trouble connecting to it. I stopped. At the time, she had just started English instruction at school. I saved it for her, though, in her bedside bookshelf. I thought I'd wait until she's ready.
Although she transports this book all over the house, she has never asked me to read it to her, like she does with every high-interest book. I suspect it's her being able to "read" it that makes it her own. Her very own, "I can do it by myself" time.
Ask me where the book is now. It's tucked under her pillow, under her head.
Seriously dying to be asked to read it. I hear it's a special one...
