We did spend the last 5 years waiting for this year. 2004 -2009 mostly centered around getting Isabela to the third, palliative heart surgery. We were initially told that she had less than a 30 % of making it to 5 years old. As you can see, she made it. We all made it. We were also told that if she made it, life would be very different after the third, Fontan, Surgery. Everyone was right. Isolation is a thing of the past for Isabela. This 2009, as hard as it was, as life-chinging as it was, it has been one incredible lift off of our shoulders.
This Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day was the best ever! We were surrounded with LOve, Peace, Joy, Faith-- all from family and friends. We did it up big this year, I mean BIG!
