Snack Anyone??

Crystal and I were engrossed in a conversation about the news as we sat on the couch. Isabela then entered the room announcing "Who wants something to eat? I am getting a snack!". So, as we allow Isabela to manage her own apettite when it comes to snacks, she grabs her own preferred snacks whenever she wants. Of course, our fridge and pantry are filled with foods appropriate for any of us here, and healthy. So, it's easy. As you can see, she returned with her own preferred choice, a dose of vegetables...super-sized! Veggie Chips with Baby Arugula. She was just missing the feta cheese.

On the same note, Isabela is proof that that kids can love nutritious, good-for-your- body food. Those books that make a killing on how to secretly hide vegetables in kids' foods floor me. I can't even go there with that one...just kills me! Trust me, if that's all there is to eat, they will eat it. If they see you eating it, they will eat it. I was determined to have Isabela eat what we eat, with no special accommodations for her. Trust me, she will still enjoy many popular kid foods, but they are not her preferences. If you don't count our Organic Oreo Cookies :-)

You rock Isabela! Went from almost two years exclusively on a feeding tube to devouring anything that is placed in front of you! (Your OT, Anna, rocks too!)
